C3 Emergency Brake Chrome Trim Install Advice

Anyone have any pointers or instructions on best way to install the chrome trim piece that goes around the emergency brake opening on the emergency brake console of a '69. The original has hollow tits that appear to be "pressed" and spread evenly to give a rivet like attachment. I'm wondering best way to remove old (driil it out I'm thinking) and the best method/tools to use to install my the NOS replacement piece I have. Don't want to mess up either!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jack,
Perhaps some push-nuts would be less chancy than trying to set the hollow shafts like a rivet.
Are the shafts long enough to accept a nut?
The bubba in me thinks about epoxy too since I wouldn't want to risk damaging the chrome.
    ?
    Regards,
    Alan

That's a great idea Alan. I'm going to look into that - saver as you said and if it doesn't work out no harm done most likely. Thanks!
